8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1.. Christmas is here!!

There are 7 days more before Christmas and everybody's busy preparing for the most awaited day. The temperature has dropped down... It used to be warm (sometimes hot) in Bontoc but it became cold. Hmm...Thank God, the weather today was fine- just what I needed. Aside from the temperature, you can see decorations everywhere, kids are caroling, people are preparing for reunions, some are even lighting up firecrackers (especially the boys), mothers are making menus for Christmas meals, youngsters are planning to throw parties, etc.

All I can say is, I can't wait for the 25th to come! I feel pretty excited about what to experience this 15th Christmas of my life! Oh ya, I shouldn't forget to greet Jesus on His special day! :-)

Mid-year Break.... Miserable me!

Ok, I have not updated my blog for so long but that's what I'm exactly doing right now. After 2 busy months, we had our 2nd grading exams on the 23rd and 24th of October. Next, we had our mid-year break (9 days) last week.

My break would have been fun especially since I'm in Baguio... but, I ended up getting sick. I never got to enjoy because all I did was stay in bed for 7 days. I had an upper respiratory tract infection, fever for five days, and rashes. I had to take in 4 kinds of medicines.

As for now, I'm doing fine but I still have rashes all over my hands and my legs down to my feet. They always get itchy but I have to endure them. I just pray that God would continue to heal me cause I'm starting to miss my classes in school. He's the great physician! He's going to make me well!

New Look

This is going to be a short post.

With a long and thick dry hair, I had to have a haircut. So I went to the parlor yesterday to choose a new hairstyle. Below is a comparison of how I look like before and after having a haircut.

Am- among Festival

The Am-among festival which started 3 years ago is annually conducted in Bontoc. This is in celebration of the establishment of Bontoc as a town; it aims to promote peace and unity by means of a gathering. The highlights of the festival include cultural presentations, folk dances, street dancing, and search for the Mr. and Ms. Am-among pageant. I can say that this event can help in the preservation of our culture because through this, the children are able to learn the lifestyle of the Bontocs despite of the modern world we have now.

Last last week, the 4th Am-among Festival was conducted and we celebrated the 100th year of Bontoc as a town. Many joined the celebration- town folks and people from afar. There were a lot of activities going on during the festival so we joined some; we performed a folk dance and a ground demonstration and had fun. The festival was quite boring but I still appreciate it because it has a good purpose.

Exhausted

Last week, we had our exams and I had to study 11 subjects.. you might say, "ooh that's quite hard." It is actually. I stayed up at night and woke up at dawn to review. Then I finally got the results of the exam...I passed. Yes!! Thank you Lord!

Next, I had to finish 5 projects this week. I submitted 4 but I'm still working on 1. We practiced a folk dance for the program next Friday...hmmm, it's good I got to dance again cause I haven't danced since November last year. We, the YES-O officers, also talked about conducting a team building activity for the club members on September 20. It's unfair that they get to play games but we can't...well never mind, I'll be looking forward to that day. It would be fun!

Today, the YWAM staff (of course I'm included) went to the hot springs and swam for like 7 hours. We had a lot of fun; many got sun burned, yet many became darker except for the white people.

I better sleep now cause I'm really really exhausted. Gotta sign out.

Finally!

I can still remember the sting I felt as the needle pricked my ring finger. I waited for the nurse to mix a drop of my blood with bluish and yellowish liquids and finally came to know that my blood type is A. Same blood type as my mom's.

Update

It's been long since I opened my blog account.. It's because school keeps me busy. Last Saturday, I lost a tooth. Losing it didn't hurt much; I had to bite a ball of cotton for two hours to stop the bleeding though... so that made me shut up (I'm talkative). I also have to take in antibiotic everyday for 7 days to prevent infection of my gums. My gums are good, I think.

Oh ya, I just remembered! I'm going to undergo a blood type test next week. I don't know my blood type so it's quite exciting to find it out.

I guess that's all for now. I got to do my homeworks so I could sleep early. Have a great week!

Plus one

I have nothing much to share right now so all I want to say is I'm excited about my birthday... I have 16 days left before I turn __; here's how to get my age: square root of 784 divided by 2 plus 1...I can't believe I'm going to get older again. Time goes by really fast. I just remembered my birthday when we were watching my baby pictures last Tuesday.

I posted two of my baby pictures, I included a pic of me and my bro when I was about 5 or 6 years old.

News

I started this day with a smile on my face and then I went to school. Just after our break, we heard a sad news. Tyler (my classmate) who just lost his grandma last Friday, lost his father. He died of heart attack... It's really hard to be in that situation. I feel very sorry for him; I saw how he looked like earlier, with tears in eyes and a very very sad face. I sympathize with his family. God be with them at this time of grief.

Busy Week

Though we had no classes for three days because of the Holiday and the typhoon, I had been busy for the past days. I listed below the things I did last week.

1. I visited my grandparents.

2. I signed and submitted my application form for the 2009 People to People Leadership Summit.

3. I, together with my group mates, worked on a project about Meiosis.

4. I also worked on our debate for the Filipino subject.

5. I articles for our school paper.

6. I attended the reorganization of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization and was elected vice president.

7. Studied for quizzes and finished many assignments.

8. Gave instructions and directions to my classmates on what to do for our report in Biotechnology.

9. Checked our attendance every school day because I’m the class secretary.

10. I baked cookies for my niece and my younger brother.

My mind is always preoccupied; I sleep late and then wake up very early; and I have many things to do in school and at home. It’s tough for me to experience this at my age…but it is training; preparation for college I think.

I thank God for answering my prayers and for giving me strength and joy to do all of these things. He has been there for me the whole time; I might have given up if I didn’t have faith in Him...He is awesome indeed!!

My first post

School days are here again! I've been attending school for a month. I find it interesting and boring...and HARD!! But needless to say I'm trying to have fun..I'm looking forward to accepting challenges this school year. I hope that I will give my best and do better than last year.

Things had gone well for the past weeks. I was always tired though. Not to forget the exciting part, I received a letter from the People to People Leadership Organization. I'm invited to attend the People to People Leadership Summit 2009 in the US (Stanford University, San Francisco, California)...Woohoo!! Thank you God! I wasn't expecting this!

I also baked a cake for the first time, last Tuesday. It's pretty cool not to follow the procedure of the recipe and find out that your baked product turned out just right.

Here are some pictures taken last July 15
